Dallas Breast Augmentation - Plano Breast Implants
Breast enlargement surgery is a simple and an easy way to dramatically alter your figure in a relatively short day surgery procedure. The results can vary with your specific desires as to size and shape. Many women feel that their natural development does not allow them to wear all clothing styles with confidence, while others have experienced a gradual loss of breast fullness following pregnancy. Occasionally, the procedure is performed to correct breast asymmetry, where one breast is smaller or out of line with the other. The effect of breast augmentation is not only an improved physical appearance but also an improved self-confidence.
During the surgery, placed beneath the natural breast tissue and generally beneath the pectoralis muscle, but in some cases placement over the muscle is indicated. The implant is made of a silastic envelope surrounding a measured volume of saline, which is adjustable to some degree. Surgical incisions are made in the inframammary fold or beneath the areola. The implants themselves come in smooth-walled (round shape) form and textured (round or anatomic tear-drop shape) form. The smooth implants are less likely to show rippling effects and require daily massage to remain soft; the textured implants generally do not require massage to remain soft and reportedly have a lower incidence of scar formation. Virtually any size of implant is available, and the choice of a particular implant volume, shape, and texture is totally individualized to your particular body’s needs. Careful measurements are made, and your general stature, chest size, and the amount of breast tissue already present is taken into account. We will show you pictures of similarly shaped women who have previously undergone the procedure to give you a better idea of what to expect. The final FDA analysis of breast implants is still pending, however there are currently no restrictions on the use of saline filled breast prostheses. Breast feeding is still possible after this type of surgery.
Surgery lasts approximately 1 1/2 hours, with an additional 2-3 hours for recovery prior to returning home. There typically is discomfort/pain during the initial 3-4 days for which pain medicine is prescribed. Many patients return to normal activities within seven to ten days. Vigorous activities need to be restricted for approximately three to four weeks.
